Our Sin Is Our Worst Enemy 2

The sin of unbelievers is their worst enemy because it separates them from God AND keeps them out of Heaven.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Jeremiah 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The sin of believers is their worst enemy for different reasons. It does not separate us from Him but does separate us from His will and blessings. It interferes with our peace and fellowship with Him. It does not please Him. It offends Him. It prevents answers to our prayers and brings His chastening upon us. He wants us to confess and forsake our sin. Good news:

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Isaiah 38:17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

Jeremiah 31:34b for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
